Family Billiards is very fortunate and honored to have developed a close association with 13-time world champion, Allison Fisher. Originally from Peacehaven, England, Allison Fisher, one of the greatest billiard players in the world, has lived in Charlotte, NC since 1996.

Allison considers Family Billiards as one of her favorite rooms, and comes here often to practice up before a major tournament. Allison first visited Family Billiards in 1997 to put on an exhibition, including a challenge match against a male professional player - whom she soundly defeated! She was such a hit that it was not long before Allison was featured (and still is) in TV commercials promoting Family Billiards.

From 1999 through 2001, Allison won 3 consecutive Women's North Carolina 9-Ball Open Championships hosted by Family Billiards. Due to her support of and participation in this event, numerous of the top 10 ranked WPBA professional women 9-ball players have also participated, making this event one of the strongest fields of any State Open in history. The tournament merited major coverage from all the billiard magazines, which landed Family Billiards on the national map as far as poolrooms! The tournament has not been held the past few years, as the capital necessary to promote and host this even thas instead been utilized for major improvements to the poolroom. These upgrades include all new pool tables and lights - both of which are considered the absolute best available in the industry.

Allison, who is currently the #1 ranked female 9-ball player in the world (and has held that distinction 7 of the last 8 years) still frequents Family Billiards regularly, considers this as her home room and one of her favorite places to come to play and practice. Allison has appeared in and won more ESPN televised 9-ball matches than any player in history - male or female. Those who are lucky enough to be at Family Billiards when Allison shows up for an impromptu practice session at Family Billiards, are treated to seeing the world's number one female pool player humble the proprietor in a match!
